The National Corvette Museum proudly announces the appointment of Andy Pilgrim to its Board of Directors. A 2012 inductee into the Corvette Hall of Fame, Pilgrim’s resume includes decades of racing excellence, a deep connection to the Corvette community, and a tireless commitment to highway safety education.
From the streets of Le Mans to the corners of Sebring and Daytona, Andy Pilgrim’s racing legacy is as impressive as it is inspiring. Born in Nottingham, England, Andy came to the United States in 1981 with nothing but ambition and a dream. At the age of 26, he entered his first professional race behind the wheel of a Renault Cup car, driving it 1,400 miles to the event and sleeping in it along the way. From those humble beginnings, he built a storied career that includes hundreds of podium finishes and some of Corvette Racing’s most iconic victories.
Andy’s contributions to Corvette Racing are legendary. He was instrumental in delivering Corvette Racing’s first-ever win in 2000 alongside teammate Ron Fellows. His time behind the wheel of the C5-R, and later racing alongside greats like Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr., cemented his place in Corvette history and the hearts of fans around the world.
“To be welcomed onto the National Corvette Museum Board is an incredible honor,” explained Pilgrim. “The Museum represents the heart and soul of the Corvette community, and I look forward to supporting its mission, engaging with fellow enthusiasts, and giving back to the people who’ve given me so much over the years.”
Beyond the track, Andy is a leading advocate for traffic safety. He founded the Traffic Safety Education Foundation, an organization committed to educating teens, parents, and educators about responsible driving. His work has been recognized nationally, and his expertise is sought after by schools, law enforcement, and government agencies alike.
“Andy Pilgrim brings a rare combination of professional racing experience, Corvette passion, and a strong commitment to public service,” added Bryce Burklow, National Corvette Museum President and CEO. “His legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of Corvette Racing, and we’re excited about the insight and energy he will bring to the Board as we look to the future.”
The National Corvette Museum continues its mission to educate, preserve, and celebrate the legacy of America’s Sports Car. Andy’s addition to the Board strengthens that mission and further connects the Museum with the spirit of performance, innovation, and community that defines the Corvette story.
