On Saturday, August 30, 2025, during the 31st Anniversary Celebration of the National Corvette Museum, Elfi’s Sisterhood reaffirmed its commitment to shaping the future, this time, through the power of robotics. Established in 2019, Elfi’s Sisterhood honors the legacy of Elfi Arkus-Duntov and unites women who share a passion for Corvette and philanthropy. This year, the group awarded nearly $27,000 to fund STEM Robotics for the McMichael Family Education Gallery.

Manufactured by Sphero, this innovative robotics set includes 16 robots, a charging pack, educator materials, and a custom case for mobility and storage, which equals a hands-on learning experience that supports STEAM-based education for students of all ages.

“This will be perfect for one of the rotations on the field trips we host at the Museum,” said Robert Maxhimer, the Museum’s Director of Curatorial Affairs and Education. “Plus, we can have these out during regular operating hours for young learners of all ages to enjoy while they are here at the National Corvette Museum.”

The funding also supports the creation of educational curriculum and student content, expanding the educational footprint of the Museum and ensuring that field trip groups leave not just inspired, but equipped with new skills.

A Legacy of Leadership and Giving

Each year during the Museum’s Anniversary Celebration, Elfi’s Sisterhood members cast their vote to determine how their collective gift will be used. Every member contributes $1,000 annually, creating a pooled fund that supports high-impact projects designed to align with the Museum’s mission. Since 2019, Elfi’s Sisterhood has supported the following initiatives:

  • 2019: Damsels in Design
  • 2020: Hot Wheels Exhibit
  • 2022: Studio X
  • 2023: Fund a Field Trip
  • 2024: Female Internships
  • 2025: STEM Robotics for the McMichael Family Education Gallery
